Robert Perez
Robert Perez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 13, 1937, in Colton, California, Robert was the son of Guermercindo and Lucina Perez. He grew up in Colton, where he formed lifelong friendships and graduated from Colton High School in 1957.
Shortly after graduation, Robert proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force in July 1957. He completed Boot Camp in San Antonio, Texas, and went on to serve at various Air Force stations around the world, including Korea and Kansas. His time in the Air Force was a defining period of his life, shaping his discipline, dedication, and strong sense of service.
In June 1961, Robert met the love of his life—his “Amazing Grace.” The two fell deeply in love and married on May 26, 1962. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children: Pamela Lemos, Michelle Perez, and Patrick Perez. Robert also cherished his son-in-law, John Lemos, his daughter-in-law, McKinsey Perez, and his treasured grandchildren: Xavier Troy Lemos, Lindsey Sarai Lemos, and Whitney King. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he adored them beyond measure.
One of Robert’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved nothing more than walking little Xavier and Lindsey across the street from their Litton house to visit the ponies—special moments that earned him the unforgettable nickname “Papa Horsey.” He also took immense pride in supporting his grandchildren’s accomplishments. He faithfully watched Lindsey play volleyball from junior high all the way through college, and proudly cheered for Xavier, especially when Xavier’s team Colton High School—won the CIF football championship in 2010 Robert’s own alma mater. Those moments with his grandchildren brought him pure happiness that he carried in his heart forever.
Robert worked many jobs throughout his life, from Kaiser Steel to Fuller Brush, but found his true calling in the life insurance industry with American National Life Insurance. During the 1970s, he became one of the company’s leading national insurance salesmen—known throughout the community as someone who treated clients like family. He retired from the life insurance profession in the late 1990s after decades of exceptional service and dedication.
Robert is lovingly survived by his sisters Mary “Honey” Sanchez and Lucy Cervantes. He is preceded in death by his siblings Sally Avila, Ida Gomez, Flavia “Chickie” Cano, Christina Escarcega, Vera Perez, and Ben Perez, all of whom he now reunites with in eternal peace.
A man of humor, kindness, and unwavering loyalty, Robert enjoyed life’s simple joys—sports (especially baseball and football), playing the ponies, the Lotto, and time spent with his family. His presence filled every room with warmth, and his love for his family, especially his grandchildren, knew no limits.
Robert’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched. He will forever be remembered for his generosity, strong work ethic, gentle spirit, and the immeasurable love he gave to those around him.
